What's the REAL reason the scales aren't shifting?

You’ve had an amazing week, stuck to your healthy eating plan by eating your greens and saying no to every temptation put in front of you, and even been to the gym 3 times. So why are the scales not shifting?

The answer is often very simple... The weekend comes round and it’s far too easy to throw all that hard work out of the window. Whilst the weekend should most certainly be about relaxing and having fun, you could potentially be ruining all your hard work just from your weekend habits alone.

Here are 3 reasons why the scales aren't shifting...

1) WEEKEND BINGE EATING - So many people stick to good habits all week then completely switch off come Friday night, putting you right back where you started (if not worse!) as you undo all the hard work you put in during the week. By all means enjoy these foods but in moderation, but being healthy is not about having a blow out at the weekend, it's about having a good balance 7 days a week.

2) SLEEPING ALL DAY - Rest is of course important to your overall health. However, if you end up spending all morning in bed, keep in mind energy expenditure will be considerably lower so as activity levels drop so should your food intake.

3) EXCESSIVE DRINKING - Having an occasional drink or two is fine. Go out and see your family and friends as that's what the weekend is about. But with many using alcohol as a stress reliever and as a way to unwind, don't forget to keep your goals in mind and remember alcohol clocks up lots of calories, gives you the munchies and hinders progress.
