I had to have my dress taken in 3 times!

In Dec 2011 I weighed in at 12st 4 and I didn't fit into my wedding dress. For 9 months I plodded along at the gym 5/6 times a week on my own. I made some progress but not all that much. I had probably lost around a stone but I still needed to lose inches. Suddenly it was August and the wedding was less than 4 months away, I needed help. Either that or a new dress, so I pulled up the wedding spreadsheet and swiftly added a Personal Trainer to the budget - It had to work!

For the next 3.5 months I trained with my PT once a week and followed the programme set for a further two sessions on my own before my next session. There was no strict diet to follow and I could still enjoy the odd treat! By the time my first dress fitting came around, BINGO, the dress fit! By the time my final dress fitting came around - I’d had to have it taken in 3 times!

In 15 weeks I'd dropped from 11st 7 and a size 14, to 9st 10 and a size 10. What's really important is that it was all body fat I’d lost and not muscle and water. How did I know that? Because I had regular body composition readings to ensure this was the case. I'll tell you more about that in my next blog.

In my last blog I told you that in 2003 I’d lost 2.5st in 8 months by doing 9+ aerobics classes a week, and today I’m telling you that in 2012 I lost nearly same weight, gained muscle definition and massively increased my fitness in less than half the time doing only 3 sessions a week… When you train SMART you get results. Trust me I know! I am living proof of this.

OK I keep admitting that I’m no saint and sometimes even I fall off the wagon, but I know how to train and I know how to get results without it taking over your life. No more spending hours on end in the gym, attending back to back classes every day of the week or prancing around in front of a DVD at home getting minimal results. I’m all about real ladies getting real results in a realistic time frame, all while learning how to train properly and safely. There are no quick fixes out there that get healthy, maintainable results - Train SMART and you’ll soon reap the rewards, just like my ladies are...

Thank you for staying tuned and my next blog will be out later this week.

Jo :)
